Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she released additional music on the internet including Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate with Rihanna. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. She made an appearance on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. In 2018, she was able to appear on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. On November 9 the singer released two new singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. The song, released with a video on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first seven days. As a supporting act, she toured with 6LACK in December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
